Sharing & access

Every site has one rule for who can open it: anyone with the link, your company, named people, or a password. Change it any time and the address stays the same.

What it does

  • Anyone with the link: Public, no sign-in. Give the link an expiry date and it stops working that day.
  • Your company: Viewers sign in with the Google or Microsoft account at your company’s domain. Nobody else gets past the door.
  • Named people: Only the email addresses you list. Add or remove someone without changing the link.
  • A password: Anyone with the link and the password. It can expire too.
  • Viewers stay viewers: Opening a link never makes someone a member of your workspace, and viewers are never charged on any plan.
  • Rules for the whole workspace: On Business, admins can turn off password or external sharing for everyone and require single sign-on.
  • Off search engines: Published sites live on a separate domain and send noindex, nofollow, and their robots.txt turns away AI training crawlers.

Guides

Do viewers need a Publidock account?

No. With company or named-people sharing they sign in with the account they already have. Opening a link never makes someone a member, and viewers are never charged on any plan.

Can I change who can open a site after I’ve shared it?

Yes. The rule belongs to the site, so a change takes effect at the same address straight away. Nobody needs a new link.

Are published sites indexed by search engines?

No. Customer sites are served on a separate domain and send X-Robots-Tag: noindex, nofollow. The marketing pages on this domain are indexed; the files you publish are not.
